Notes from the studio #1
Hello you, and welcome to this small, quiet corner of the internet.
If you are reading this, it means that Birds by Post has finally opened its wings. That feels both exciting, and a little frightening to be honest. For a long time, I felt something inside my small business was missing, and the spark dimmed. I knew something needed to change, even if I did not yet know what.
At the beginning of this year, I stepped into learning again, and to a course about "entrepreneurship" with fellow creatives. It opened my mind into new ways of thinking, and slowly, gently, the spark returned. I am deeply grateful for that. It reminded me that it is okay to start over, and that even small beginnings can carry new light.
But if we haven’t met before, hello!
My name is Tine. I am a Danish artist living in the western part of Jutland, where the sky feels wide and the wind always seems to be on the move.
Birds have been with me for as long as I can remember. But the first time I saw a kingfisher, something shifted. Its colours felt unreal, like a small piece of magic passing through the world. Since then, I’ve been a devoted "bird nerd" in the best way. I began drawing them while studying in Wales, encouraged by a teacher who saw something in my quiet fascination. My bachelor project grew into a story about birds in art, and I have never really stopped listening to them since.
Over the years, I have been lucky to see birds in many different places. And still, I am amazed by how they are always here, just outside our doors, living their own secret lives beside ours.
I’m truly happy you found your way here.
I hope, with time, that this little bird club can become a place you return to like a small pause in your day, or an envelope waiting in your mailbox.
If you feel like sharing, I would love to know:
What is your favourite bird? 🕊️
I wish you the best of days!
With love,
Tine 🤍
